Strengthening global partnerships to support athletes and promote The World Games
In an exciting new initiative, the International World Games Association (IWGA) has partnered with Women Lead Sports to introduce the Women’s Leadership Programme, designed to equip women from member International Federations (IFs) with fundamental management skills.
With an inspiring performance at the inaugural TWG Series in Hong Kong, the USA Pom Doubles Team not only claimed victory but also secured a qualification for The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China. For their incredible performance, they have been named The World Games Athletes of the Month for October 2024.
Competitions in Tug of War have been held at every edition of TWG since the inaugural Games in 1981. The sport has its origins in the depths of history, and is well-known as a competitive sport in very many countries all over the world. It’s popular with both men and women, in mixed and single-sex teams.
Chengdu, 28 October 2024 – The International World Games Association (IWGA) held its last Executive Committee (ExCo) meeting of the year on Sunday 27 October, in Chengdu, China, marking significant advancements in preparation for The World Games 2025 (TWG) and broader organisational initiatives.
