The World Games Athlete of the Year 2018

Luca Lucaroni - Roller Sports

Luca Lucaroni was born in Perugia on March 19, 1995 and started
skating for fun at the age of 4. As a teenager, he decided to move to Rome and leave his family behind. Under the guidance of national coach Gabriel Quirini, Luca became Italian Champion in the Junior category and won the silver medal in his first World Championships.

Luca is the the only skater in the history of artistic skating to have
simultaneously won the world title in men free skating and in pairs
and with a record performance. During the 2016 World Championships, he was awarded no less than 18 times with the maximun 10.0 score, giving him the nickname “Mr 10”.

At the World Games 2017, he won the gold medal both in the disciplines of Men Free Skating and Pairs. He repeated the double gold medal at the World Championships 2017 in Nanjing and 2018
in La Vendée.
