The World Games Family mourns Kuno Ritschard

It was with great sadness that The World Games family learned of the death of the President Emeritus of the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF), Mr Kuno Ritschard, at the age of 84. Ritschard was the President of the IWWF for 16 years from 2001 to 2017. Before becoming IWWF President, he was an Waterski athlete, Official, Secretary General, and President of the European federation.

IWGA President José Perurena is saddened by the news: “In our thoughts, we are with Kuno’s wife Vreny and their son. The World Games family will always remember Kuno as a strong supporter of our event – and as a good friend. We will miss his fun-loving and cosmopolitan nature. The World Games family will forever cherish his dedication to the IWGA and associate his name with the smile on his face.

 The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 7-17 July 2022. 3,600 athletes from over 30 sports and 100 countries will take part in The World Games.
