Austin Staats is a rising star in both international and professional lacrosse. He is playing his first season of professional lacrosse for the San Diego Seals of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). In his rookie season, Austin is tied for the league lead in goals-scored with 18 goals in 6 games. He is also among the league leaders in scoring with 31 points on 18 goals and 13 assists.
Austin has helped lead San Diego to a 4-2-0 overall record in the team's inaugural season, and the Seals are currently in second place in the West Division of the NLL. This past summer, playing for his National Team, Austin scored 16 goals in helping the Iroquois Nationals secure the bronze medal at the 2018 FIL World Championships in Israel.
He was also the first player selected in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old forward is originally from Six Nations, Ontario, Canada.
