Introduction

I'm a 27-year-old professional floorball player from Tampere, Finland. At the moment, I'm living in Umeå, Sweden, where I moved seven years ago with my twin sister Oona. I play for Thorengruppen IBK and I study communication at the University of Vaasa in Finland. I used to be a top-level football player and switched to playing only floorball around the age of 18. I have my own company together with my twin sister Oona – KauppiTwins. The company organizes floorball camps, provides education, and runs several social media accounts.

As a dedicated athlete, I understand the challenges we face and the importance of having a strong voice representing athletes when sports organizations shape our future. With experience playing for one of the world’s best club teams and the Finnish national team, I am familiar with top athletes' challenges and what governing bodies can do to help. My goal is to represent The World Games athletes, advocate for better conditions, and ensure our concerns are heard at the highest levels.

Q1 Why are you running as a candidate for the IWGA AC?

I would be a good representative and voice for the athletes because my passion is to develop the sports world and help (especially girl) athletes chase their dreams.

Q2 What experience do you have that you would bring to the IWGA AC?

In my role as the Team Captain of Finland, I have had the opportunity to discuss challenges with the National Team management and the Finnish Floorball Federation to address and resolve them.

Q3 Why should your fellow athletes vote for you?

I'm not afraid to speak out, and I’m a strong advocate for equality on all levels.

Q4 What is the biggest challenge you have faced as an athlete?

ACL injury back in 2016. I learned a lot about patience and trying to see the big picture.

Q5 How did you become involved in sport?

Floorball is a family tradition for us, so it was always part of my life growing up.

Q6 How has sport had an impact on your life?

Sport has meant everything to me. Through Floorball, I’ve met my closest friends and developed countless life skills.

Q7 What would be your top three priorities if you were elected?

Work for better conditions for the athletes. Advocate for equality in The World Games. Find new ways to have the voice of the athletes better heard in questions that concern us.

Q8 Describe your personality in three words:

Diligent, team player, trustworthy

Q9 What are you passionate about?

I'm passionate about inspiring people and showing that there are no limits.

Q10 Why is the athletes’ voice important to you?

I’ve always been a person who wants to change the world. However, change will never happen if we don’t try to raise our voices, and that’s why I would try to listen to the athletes’ voices.
