Introduction

My name is Anastasia Glazunova, and I am an active athlete competing in Amateur Standard in the WDSF for over 14 years. I represent Moldova, and my WDSF MIN number is 10028178. As an active WDSF athlete, I was elected as the Head of the Athletes’ Committee in May 2024 by the WDSF Presidium, and I am eager to continue representing the interests and wishes of WDSF athletes. I am submitting my candidacy again to serve as a “link” between athletes and officials.

As the active WDSF athlete, I was elected Head of the Athletes’ Commission in May 2024 by the WDSF Presidium. I am willing to continue representing the interests and wishes of WDSF athletes. For this election, I am submitting my candidacy as a Member of the IWGA Athletes Committee to serve as a “link” between Athletes and Officials. My accomplishments: WDSF World Cup Winner (2012), WDSF European Championship Adult Winner (2024), WDSF World Championship Adult Winner (2024), 9-time WDSF Grand Slam Winner (2023–2024) I have competed in WDSF (IDSF until 2011) since 2005 and am confident in my awareness of athletes’ needs and thoughts.

Q1 Why are you running as a candidate for the IWGA AC?

As the active athlete, I would like to improve training and competition conditions as well as ensure the fact that the athletes have their rights respected.

Q2 What experience do you have that you would bring to the IWGA AC?

I have the experience of working as the Head of the Athletes’ Commission in the WDSF.

Q3 Why should your fellow athletes vote for you?

With many years of experience as an active athlete, my aim is to ensure equal opportunities for all athletes, including those from different backgrounds and economic conditions.

Q4 What is the biggest challenge you have faced as an athlete?

As the current World Champion, I clearly understand what athletes face during their careers on the way to the biggest titles. This journey is the biggest challenge by itself.

Q5 How did you become involved in sport?

From childhood, I was hardworking and goal-driven. Sport became the perfect outlet for those traits. I’ve always loved dancing—so it was only natural to pursue it seriously.

Q6 How has sport had an impact on your life?

Sport taught me how to believe in myself, work as part of a team, and take responsibility for the group’s success.

Q7 What would be your top three priorities if you were elected?

Improving training and competition conditions. Defending athletes’ rights. Preserving and protecting the origins of dance.

Honest, dedicated, purposeful

Q9 What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about honesty, justice, and the importance of ensuring every person is heard.

Q10 Why is the athletes’ voice important to you?

Because I am sure that I am able to protect the rights and interests of our athletes.
