I am applying because I believe The World Games represent the most diverse and innovative frontier of modern sport. My goal is to ensure that our Member Federations receive the commercial support and global visibility they deserve, while maintaining the sustainable, athlete-centered spirit that defines the IWGA.

Since the beginning of this millennium, when I was first elected as a board member with a large majority, I have been motivated by the belief that the world of sports needs two strong and efficient platforms - one for Olympic and one for non-Olympic sports. The World Games are essential for giving non-Olympic sports global exposure. My goal has been to create the best possible environment for these sports. This process is ongoing, and I would like now to continue contributing to its success in the new position as President.

In 2024, we have reviewed our strategy and updated this under my coordination. This sets out a series of key ambitions for the next decade, and I would like to contribute to help realize those ambitions. Leveraging my strategic orientation, inspiring personality, and down-to-earth management style grounded in a very high level of integrity, my intention is to further develop the involvement of the NOCs and NSOs in TWG, with the objective to help strengthen the support for the national federations of our member IFs that eventually make our sports and our athletes successful.

I hope to bring my experience in order to continue to develop the marketing and TV broadcasting services to make them more viable for the IWGA members. I believe my financial experience will provide a good base to continue the excellent work of Mr. Hinder as the IWGA treasurer and to be more closely connected with the planning and execution of The World Games 2029 in Karlsruhe. The IWGA needs to react to the changing world and continue to work with develop the organisation still into a more professional way. Here I believe I have a good understanding of how to do that. I believe that The World Games are held for the member federations and therefore we need to find more ways to include and help the members to promote and use the participation of TWG.

I naturally want to involve myself and to engage in developing The World Games and other function areas. It is personally challenging to engage in a professional organisation, benefitting both myself, the IWGA, its members, and my own mother organisation, WAKO. I find it natural to take initiative, and if I am wanted, I also use this possibility to apply myself to serve IWGA. To further develop and implement The World Games recognition worldwide, following and developing the strategic pillars already defined within IWGA.

The World Games is the pinnacle of the Flying Disc competition calendar. We get the best athletes and teams to compete. As an organisation, we were previously represented on the IWGA Executive Committee by Mr. Bernardi. With his passing and now that I have retired from my day job, I want to continue the legacy of support he provided in making sure TWG and its underlying organisation are as strong as possible.

I am deeply committed to advancing the values and global visibility of The World Games and its sports. The IWGA plays a vital role in promoting diversity in sport, innovation in event delivery, and meaningful opportunities for disciplines beyond the Olympic programme. I am eager to contribute my experience and passion to further strengthen this mission. Over the past years, I have built extensive expertise in sport development, event organisation, and strategic leadership at both national and international levels. This background allows me to bring a constructive, forward-looking perspective to the IWGA — particularly in areas such as athlete engagement, digital transformation, and partnerships with host cities and international federations. I view this position not only as an honour, but as a responsibility: to serve the athletes and federations.
