In the year following The World Games, the IWGA General Meeting elects a seven-member Executive Committee to a term of four years. This board coordinates and supervises all matters related to The World Games on behalf of the Member IFs.
The board's tasks include making recommendations for the selection of suitable host cities and serving as the permanent liaison between the IWGA and the games' organizers.

The International World Games Association is pleased to announce the nine athletes who have been elected to serve on the IWGA Athletes Committee for the 2025–2029 term.
During its first meeting, the Athletes Committee elected Sandra Sánchez from Spain (Karate) as their Chair and Xiaoxiao (Sunny) Lai from China (Wushu) as the Vice-Chair. The elected Chair will also serve as a member of the IWGA Executive Committee for the duration of the term, from 2025 to 2029.
