
Pullers for Wroclaw
The top national teams in Tug of War will meet and compete at the World Indoor Championships this weekend. For the national squads in the Women 540 kg category the event in Volendam (Netherlands) will be most important. The top six countries will qualify for the World Games 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland. One of the favourites to win the title and book the ticket to Poland are, of course, the women of Chinese Taipei, the current World Games Champion.
The programme of the World Championships features competitions in the categories of 560 kg, 600 kg, 640 kg, 680 kg (Men), 500 kg, 540 kg (Women) and 600 kg (Mixed). The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee.
The IWGA comprises 39 International Member Sports Federations.
It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features popular, traditional, emerging and trend sports on its programme.
The World Games 2025 took place in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 4,000 athletes from more than 110 countries took part in this 12th edition.
The World Games 2029 will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany, from 19-29 July 2029, 40 years after it hosted TWG in 1989.
