The election forms part of the governance process associated with the EGM, at which Member Federations will consider a series of proposed constitutional amendments designed to strengthen the IWGA's governance structure, enhance leadership continuity and succession planning, and modernise the Executive Committee's composition.

Subject to the approval of the proposed constitutional amendments by the EGM, Member Federations will elect one additional Vice-President to serve until the conclusion of the current Executive Committee mandate in 2030.

  • Pete Dyer, Tug of War International Federation (TWIF)

The nominations were submitted in accordance with the IWGA Constitution and By-Laws and has been reviewed by the IWGA Office. The candidates have been confirmed as eligible to stand for election.

IWGA Member Federations will receive the candidates' supporting documentation in accordance with the election timetable ahead of the EGM.

"The proposed governance changes reflect our commitment to ensuring the IWGA continues to evolve in line with the needs of our growing global community. The election of an additional Vice-President, subject to the approval of the constitutional amendments, will strengthen the ExCo and further support effective leadership and continuity throughout the current mandate. I thank our candidates for their willingness to serve the Association and wish them every success in the election process."

If the proposed constitutional amendments are approved, the election for the additional Vice-President position will immediately follow in accordance with the IWGA Constitution and By-Laws.
