Award for the Champion
The Swedish Men’s Floorball Team has been awarded IWGA Team of the Month for December 2014. On behalf of IWGA President José Perurena, the President of the International Floorball Federation Tomas Eriksson presented the prize, a specially engraved Tissot watch.
Captain Johan Samuelsson accepted the honors at a ceremony following the elite match between AIK Innebandy and Granlo on Saturday. Samuelsson is one of the players of Innebandy.
Samuelsson and his teammates secured the World Floorball Championship title in Gothenburg, Sweden in December 2014. The defending champions achieved the title with a 3-2 win over Finland.
Tissot is the IWGA partner for the monthly award of the best athlete in one of The World Games sports.
The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee.
The IWGA comprises 39 International Member Sports Federations.
It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features popular, traditional, emerging and trend sports on its programme.
The World Games 2025 took place in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 4,000 athletes from more than 110 countries took part in this 12th edition.
The World Games 2029 will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany, from 19-29 July 2029, 40 years after it hosted TWG in 1989.
