Wroclaw Higher Education joins forces with TWG 2017

The Local Organizing Committee of The World Games 2017 (WOC) has recently signed agreements with two institutions of higher education in Wrocław. The first of these is the Wrocław Academy of Physical Education. Its venues will be used for the tug-of-war tournament and the beach handball competitions during TWG 2017. The experience of Academy staff in organizing large sport events will be highly appreciated. WOC is  counting on Academy students to support the volunteer staff during the Games too.

Of equal note is the agreement between the WOC and the Wrocław University of Economics.  It was signed by WOC President Marcin Przychodny, Vice-President Adam Roczek and the University Rector, Professor Andrzej Kaleta. The main “goal” of the agreement - as laid out in its preamble - “is to work together to promote The World Games by fully exploiting the current infrastructure and human resources.” Furthermore, this partnership will serve to expand the skills of staff and students while providing a foundation for the building of a future generation of professional sport managers.

The University campus will be used to accommodate participants of TWG 2017. Students of the University will have the unique opportunity to gain experience in the organization of a world-class sport event. It is also worth noting that the TWG 2017 volunteer program will be added to the list of University practical training. The WOC will undertake to provide training sessions, lectures and workshops for those students interested in the organization of sport events.
