Qualification for TWG 2017: Acrobatic Gymnastics on the Road to Wroclaw

The 25th Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships 2016 last weekend in Putian City (China) were the only qualifier in Acrobatic Gymnastics for The World Games 2017 (20-30 July). The World Games is considered the premiere event for Acrobatic gymnasts.

By dint of their results in qualification, the following nations have qualified to send Women's Groups to Wroclaw, Poland, next summer: Russia, Belarus, China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Great Britain and Portugal. China, Great Britain, Israel, Russia, Ukraine and Australia also qualified Men's Groups, while Russia, USA, Portugal, Belarus, Great Britain and Poland earned the right to send Mixed Pairs.

FIG announced about the qualification criteria: after the end of the qualification round, the top five countries in each category earned places to compete in Wroclaw, with a maximum of one place per country. An additional berth in each discipline may be attributed by the FIG Executive Committee following the competition to assure host country participation or continental representation.

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The World Games 2025 are currently taking place in Chengdu (CHN) until 17 August 2025. 4,000 athletes from more than 110 countries are taking part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA) in 2022.
