José Perurena to Represent SportAccord Associate Members
IWGA President José Perurena has been designated to represent the Associate Members on the SportAccord Council. The delegates of the ten Associate Members such as IWGA, FICS or FISU agreed that José Perurena will serve as their representative until the next SportAccord Convention in April 2017.
One of his duties will be to take care of establishing proper electoral procedures for this group of associations. Based on these procedures, a new process of nomination and election will take place at next year's SportAccord Convention.
The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee.
The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations.
It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme.
The World Games 2025 took place in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August 2025. 4,000 athletes from more than 110 countries took part in this 12th edition.
