Lukas Hinder met Thomas Bach
DanceSport as President Lukas Hinder and IOC President Thomas Bach discussed the present and future of DanceSport.
Two months after assuming office, Lukas Hinder, the new President of the World DanceSport (WDSF) Federation, met with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Dr Thomas Bach, in Lausanne, SUI. The meeting was held at Hinder’s request and aimed to update the IOC President on the most recent developments in DanceSport and its governing body. WDSF is one of 37 member federations of the IWGA. Dance Sport will be on the program of The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw/Poland. Lukas Hinder has served as an IWGA Board Member for more than 15 years.
The International World Games Association (IWGA) is a non-profit-making international sports organisation recognised and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The IWGA comprises 40 International Member Sports Federations. It administers and promotes The World Games (TWG), a multi-sport event held every four years that features around 35 sports on its programme. The World Games 2025 are currently taking place in Chengdu (CHN) until 17 August 2025. 4,000 athletes from more than 110 countries are taking part in this 12th edition. The latest Games were hosted by Birmingham, Alabama (USA) in 2022.
