Eight-time World Champion, three-time The World Games champion and five-time British Open title holder Squash legend Nicol David (MAS) is The World Games Athlete of February 2019! Congratulations!

Nicol David announced earlier in February that she is bringing to a close her illustrious playing career in Squash. Since making her debut on the international stage in 1996 when she won the British Junior U14 Open title as a 12-year-old, David has blazed a phenomenal trail through the sport, creating record after record. Now 35, David became the first player to win two world junior titles in 2001 before going on to accumulate a record eight senior individual world titles amongst a total of 81 PSA World Tour titles from 102 final appearances.

She will receive The World Games Athlete of the Month diploma as well as a branded gift from the Official Sponsor of Athlete of the Month, Protective Life.

 The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 15-25 July 2021. 3,600 athletes from over 30 sports and 100 countries will take part in the Games.
