President of the IWGA, José Perurena, yesterday signed a broadcasting contract with Manolo Romero, the Managing Director of International Sports Broadcasting (ISB), for The World Games 2017. Polish ATM is the host broadcaster of the Games, appointed by the Wroclaw Organising Committee, and ISB will work with ATM to cover the events live from the venues during the Games. The ISB will also create a 24/7 permanent channel for the Games together with the Olympic Channel.
“Manolo Romero is the most experienced TV Producer of multi-sports games. He has broadcast several Olympic Games, and one cannot find anyone who understands the character of the Games better than him. I am very pleased to have Mr Romero and the IBS on board,” José Perurena says. The ISB also covered the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.
ISB’s broadcasting has been acknowledged by numerous Olympic Golden Rings, Emmy’s and other awards. Most recently the ISB was awarded the Innovation Prize for “Innovative Use of Mini HSSM Cameras” at the SPORTEL AWARDS Ceremony in Monaco in October 2015.
The World Games 2017 will take place 20-30 July in Wroclaw, Poland, with 4,000 athletes from 31 sports and over 100 countries present. The international signal of The World Games 2017 will be distributed to TV channels in more than 100 countries and to the Olympic Channel.
