240 Hours: New Record

ON AIRThe regional public channel TELEPACIFICO, the designated Games Host Broadcaster for 2013 Cali, prepares to cover the event with a record number of hours and live feeds. 240 hours - 24 hours on all ten days of competition - surpasses the already impressive benchmark established by the 2009 Kaohshiung broadcast operation undertaken by the Public Television Service in Taiwan.

CLOC President Otoya II

Cali 2013Here is the second and final part of the interview Dr. Rodrigo Otoya gave to "El País" after his appointment as President of the Cali Local Organizing Committee for The World Games 2013.

Funding and vision for the games to be held in 17 months are outlined by the entrepreneur and sports executive in his replies to questions by  "El País" journalist César Polanía.

Changes To CLOC

CLOCSeveral changes to the composition of the Cali Local Organizing Committee (CLOC) have been announced on day one of the meetings between International World Games Association representatives and key members of the CLOC.

The Mayor of Cali, the Governor of the Cauca Valley Department, the Director of the ministerial-level COLDEPORTES and the President of the Colombian Olympic Committee are the new members. The organizing committee for The World Games 2013 will henceforth be presided over by a Cali enterpreneur.

2013 Cali: See You!

CountdownCali, Cauca Valley and Colombia affirm their commitment to organize the "best World Games to date" in a celebration staged to initiate the countdown to the event at 18 months out.

Juan Manuel Santos, the President of the Republic, declares the games to be "a challenge for Colombia". At the same time, he calls for the games' slogan "Fair Play to the Planet" to be applied immediately, after a flooding caused by the Cauca River affects thousands in and around Cali.
