VIP Sportstravel: Travel Partner of TWG 2017

Creating new fond memories

After a fruitful cooperation in 2013, the International World Games Association (IWGA) has again chosen VIP Sportstravel as its exclusive travel partner for The World Games 2017. Rainer Wenning, CEO of VIP Sportstravel, explains what kind of service his team provides, and says that he is thrilled to be part of the event taking place from 20th to 30th July in Wroclaw, Poland.

  1. Please tell us more about VIP Sportstravel.

Reiner Wenning: As a company of Lagardère Sports & Entertainment, VIP Sportstravel is a member of the world’s largest sports marketing network. Established in 2008, VIP Sportstravel is one of the world’s leading hospitality agencies and is made up of a team of 20 full-time experts in strategy, travel, events, hospitality and marketing. Being specialised in brand-driven 360° hospitality services, VIP Sportstravel makes major sporting events unforgettable for the guests of sponsors and international sports federations.

  1. What makes you special?

Reiner Wenning: There is more than one good answer to this question. We draw on sports industry expertise. We work with official rights holders. And the world of sport is our home turf. Also our approach is proven to be a standout factor, because what we do goes beyond mere travel management. We will take care of every detail to create a seamless experience from start to finish.

  1. What kind of service will you bring in contributing to the success of The World Games 2017?

Reiner Wenning: VIP Sportstravel was appointed as the exclusive travel agency for The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw. We organise and manage full package services or accommodation assistance. Our team will create tailor-made travel packages for the NOC family, for the international federations and friends wishing to attend The World Games 2017 and seeking assistance. We offer a variety of services including the management of international and domestic scheduled flights, ground transportation, accommodation in hotels (3-5 star) and catering (e.g. restaurant bookings, hire of private locations etc.).

  1. Who can benefit from your service?

Reiner Wenning: As I said: NOCs, IFs, athletes, friends & families. In general, anyone who is basically interested!

  1. Please let us know what you do when not working on TWG 2017.

Reiner Wenning: Being at home in the world of sports, we engage in a wide selection of different sporting events but with focus on the major events. Sporting highlights such as Summer & Winter Olympics, FIFA World Cups, UEFA European Championships and Formula 1 are just a fraction of the variety of events we love to work at.

  1. You were first appointed by the IWGA at TWG 2013 in Cali. Be so kind as to give us an example of your work there.

Reiner Wenning: We had the privilege of serving over 500 guests at The World Games 2013 in Cali. Our highlight was most certainly taking care of the South African Delegation, including their Rugby 7 Team. It was truly moving to see the pure joy when it was announced that Rugby 7 is now an Olympic discipline.

How did you experience your first time at the event?

Reiner Wenning: Cali brings back very fond memories! The city is great and the people are extremely friendly and hospitable. The vibe was unique and it felt like a big celebration which lasted 10 full days.

  1. Anything else left to say?

Reiner Wenning: We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this year’s The World Games again and we look forward to creating new fond memories for all those who attend!
