President Froehlich explained the decision to pick Cali as next host with their enormous experience in organizing sports events. Just recently Cali held the national multi-sport games with more than 6,000 participants. The city has been host to the Pan-American Games and many more international championships and has all the necessary infrastructure and sports venues.
Pascual Guerrero about the decision to bid for TWG2013: 'The excitement among the public here in Kaohsiung shows us that we can be looking forward to have the Games in Cali.' According to him, the event offers the people in South America the opportunity to learn about interesting and fascinating sports, and is a chance to push urban development.
The Host City Contract between Cali and the IWGA about hosting the Event is due to be concluded in September 2009. A Letter of Intent has already been signed during The World Games 2009 in Kaohsiung.
