The World Games family is growing!

The number of The World Games member federations has recently grown, with new members from four continents: Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

The IFFFloorball family continues to expand, with the IFF Central Board approving the Central Africa Floorball Federation as IFF member no. 71 and the Kiribati Floorball National Federation as member no. 72.

There are currently 320 Floorball players and 10 Floorball clubs in the Central African Republic. The goal is also to organise national Floorball championships and by 2020 to have a national team. In Kiribati, there are 160 Floorball players and five Floorball clubs. The Kiribati Floorball National Federation aims to promote Floorball by spreading the game to the outer islands and forming new Floorball clubs. The goal is also to organise island tournaments and annual national championships.

In Aikido, a Turkish umbrella organisation will join the International Aikido Federation. Turkish Aikikai is the new umbrella organisation that will comprise the 5 entities: Antalya Aikikai, Istanbul Aikikai, Turkish Aikikai Aikido Organisation, United Aikido Organisation and Yalcin Yenice Aikido Organisation.

On the same day, the conditions of another umbrella organisation in Saudi Arabia were being discussed between Wilko Vriesman, IAF General Secretary and the Saudi Aikikai and Saudi Aikido Association. Both organisations agreed to sign a covenant of cooperation in this direction.

The Fiji Mountaineering and Climbing Association was ratified as a Continental Member of the International Sport Climbing Federation, expanding representation in Oceania ahead of the 2019 season and increasing the total number of IFSC members to 91.

“Our mission is to develop Sport Climbing on all five continents, from Asia to Oceania. We are welcoming the future together, and every one of our stakeholders plays an essential role,” says IFSC President Marco Scolaris.

The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 15-25 July 2021. 3,600 athletes from over 30 sports and 100 countries will take part in the Games.
