Pool player Jayson Shaw (GBR), silver medallist from The World Games 2017, was selected the Most Valuable Player at the Mosconi Cup in December 2020. The Mosconi Cup is a prestigious annual 9-ball pool competition between USA and Europe. Jayson Shaw won all five of his singles and doubles matches, and sank the ball that won the Mosconi Cup for Europe by 11 to 3. He is our Athlete of December 2020!

This was Shaw’s third time on a winning European team. He is Scottish, and lives and trains in Connecticut, USA. One of his most extraordinary shots at this year’s Mosconi Cup can be seen on the video below.

As The World Games Athlete of December 2020, Jayson Shaw will receive The World Games Athlete of the Month diploma as well as a branded gift from the Official Sponsor of Athlete of the Month, Protective Life.

 The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 7-17 July 2022. 3,600 athletes from over 30 sports and 100 countries will take part in The World Games.
