The new four-man Group continued the winning streak started by their predecessors in 2014. On the last day of the 2016 event in Putian, the foursome lived up to tradition by finishing 1.6 points over silver medalist Israel, which was the largest margin of victory in any category. They were also the only team who were able to beat the Russians, who won all of the other six titles in Putian.

Achieving the title, the men’s group qualified China for a place to compete at The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland. Acrobatic Gymnastics will be one of the disciplines on the programme of TWG 2017 (20-30 July).

Fresh off their golden performances, the world champion Acrobatic Group demonstrated the technical mastery of their craft before the eyes of the sports public at the opening ceremony of the SportAccord convention in Lausanne on 18 April.

"It is important to us to increase the visibility of Acrobatic Gymnastics," Bruno Grandi, President of Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG,) said about the opportunity to demonstrate the beauty of this discipline in front of the delegates of more than 100 international sports federations.
