Promoting TWG 2021

The World Games 2021 shall be promoted tothe fans: this is the idea behind an advertising campaign created by the IWGA in cooperation with its member federations. The IWGA has prepared a number of different tools for promoting the upcoming Games – in Birmingham, Alabama, 15-25 July 2021 – which can enhance the federations’ strategies for raising attention to the multi-sports event. The campaign materials are designed to be used in connection with the federations’ most important events, including the qualification competitions for The World Games 2021.

In addition to the material, the IWGA has also produced a manual giving guidance on the use of banners and flags and others. IWGA CEO Joachim Gossow explains: "In order to raise awareness of The World Games in two years’ time, we want to promote ourselves in the places where the fans of a particular sport are gathered.”

“To be present with ads and/or banners at a qualification competition is an important step. A further step is for our federations to point out in their communications that a certain competition will serve to qualify for The World Games in 2021. In addition, it is our goal that the athletes who will be in Birmingham will be given every opportunity to communicate their achievements to their fans.”

The announcement of the promotional activities has already attracted the interest of a number of federations. The materials can be ordered from the IWGA Office.

The World Games is a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The 11th edition of The World Games will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, 15-25 July 2021. 3,600 athletes from over 30 sports and 100 countries will take part in the Games.
