The Spanish National Olympic Committee supports The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, USA. This support was emphasised by NOC President Chairman Alejandro Blanco Bravo during the Annual General Meeting of the International World Games Association in Madrid.
The International World Games Association (IWGA) and the Birmingham Organizing Committee team up with the Olympic Channel Services (OCS), to stream The World Games 2022 (TWG) at Olympics.com in the USA from 7 – 17 July 2022.
The World Games 2022 will add a chapter to the history of the city of Birmingham, USA. Randall Woodfin, the Mayor of the host city in Alabama, USA, stated this in person at the Annual General Meeting of the International World Games Association, held 49 days before the opening ceremony for the 11th edition of The World Games 2022 on 7th July. The AGM was attended by representatives of the 39 member federations. Several federations took the opportunity to participate in the discussions and voting online due to pandemic restrictions still in place.
Wouter Raeymaekers has qualified for The World Games as a member of the Belgium Tug of War team in the 640 kg class. He started with Tug of War around the age of 11, in an unusual way: “The kids of friends of my mother were doing Tug of War, and they asked me to join them for a commercial spot on a children's channel on TV. The International World Games Association is looking beyond the 11th edition of its event in Birmingham, USA this July. Future-oriented topics such as e-gaming, plans for the introduction of an Athletes Commission and the concept for the new The World Games Series will be on the agenda of the Annual General Meeting on 19th May in Madrid.
Gymnast Kaden Brown (USA) says he chose his sport because there is no limit. ”There is always room for improvement and always potential for bigger and better,” says Brown, who has just qualified in Tumbling for The World Games 2022. “My goal for 2022 was to make The World Games!” he says. ”Check!
