Ron Froehlich thanks Jacques Rogge for his support
The International World Games Association extended its gratitude for the solidarity showed by outgoing IOC President, Jacques Rogge, with The World Games, during a lunch meeting that took place in Cali. IWGA President Ron Froehlich presented two framed posters as gifts on this occasion.
One displayed the poster of The 1981 World Games in Santa Clara, USA, while the other displayed a picture containing the previous nine editions of The World Games. Jacques Rogge was in fact at the first edition in 1981, being the Mission’s chief for the Belgian team at that time. As Vice-President and also as President of the IOC, he was part of five other versions of this multisport Event. On his thank you speech, he expressly addressed Jacques Rogge’s wife saying that without the support of partners like Countess Anne Rogge, such success would not be possible; “we couldn’t have asked for a better volunteer“, said Froehlich, before handing her another gift he had prepared.
At the lunch with Jacques Rogge, along with numerous representatives of the International Federations, the IOC members present at the ninth World Games were also able to assist.
