Kaufland selected main sponsor of TWG 2017

Kaufland recently became the main sponsor of The World Games 2017, the largest sporting event to take place in Poland this year. One of the most important elements of the cooperation with a major European supermarket chain will be the push to promote healthy eating habits among fans of the TWG2017.

Marcin Przychodny, Chairman of the Wroclaw Organising Committee commented on the new development: "It is my pleasure to welcome Kaufland to the growing number of partners supporting the Games in Wrocl‚aw. I'm certain that we can look forward to a successful partnership, not least because of the common goal that has brought us together: promoting a healthy lifestyle."

As part of its sponsorship package, Kaufland will see its brand promoted around the 26 venues that host the more than 200,000 fans of The World Games 2017. This will include exhibition in Wrocl‚aw Stadium during the Opening Ceremony of the Games as well as in the newly-renovated Olympic Stadium and the Fan Zone located on pl.WolnoÅ›ci. The main sponsor's logo will also figure prominantely during the extensive television coverage provided by Polsat.

Fans of the TWG 2017 will enjoy a special treat when they visit any one of competition venues - an assortment of healthy food and snacks selected from among Kaufland's own line of products.

He went on to add that Kaufland's support of The World Games Wrocław 2017 is the company's largest sponsorship project in Poland to date.

Working together with Kaufland as a main sponsor, the Games' organizers hope to draw attention to the fact that a healthy lifestyle is based not only on physical activity, but also on a properly balanced diet.

Wrocl‚aw Deputy Mayor Wojciech Adamski stressed this point: "We would like the Games to be not only a celebration of sport and a chance to promote Wrocl‚aw, but also a special time for local citizens. This is a very unique opportunity to inspire the residents of WrocÅ‚aw to be more active physically and become more interested in both new sport disciplines and new ways to care for their own health."

The World Games 2017 is the 10th edition of The World Games, the international multi-sport event held every four years under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.

The Wroclaw edition of TWG will be held 20–30 July and  will see approximately 3,500 athletes from around the world compete for medals in 31 sports. Tickets recently went on sale (23 February) and can be obtained by visiting: www.ebilet.pl
