Qualifiers for American Football
USA, Japan, Poland and Germany will take part in the American Football tournament during The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw (Poland). This was announced by the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and the Wroclaw Organizing Committee. American Football is one of four invitational sports on the programme of TWG 2017 (20-30 July).
All teams participate in The World Games with their National teams and their best available players. Germany will partake as a current European Champions and Poland of course as the host country. American Football is quite popular in Poland. Last year more the 14,000 spectators watched the X Superfinal of the Polish League in Wrocław.
The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) is convinced that all four countries will make a great tournament and that it will be a spectacular event for the spectators and fans of American Football. The sport was last time on the programme of TWG in 2015. It was part of the event in Duisburg/Germany as an invitational sport, too. Germany won the gold medal in 2005.
