NOC delegates visited Wrocław

Polish Olympic Committee, Ministry of Sports and Tourism and Wrocław Organizing Committee (WOC) visited Olimpic Stadium in Wrocław. The stadium is undergoing major renovation before TWG2017 (20-30 July 2017). It will be a venue for the speedway and American football. The stadium will have the capacity of 13,000 seats with the possible extension to 15,000 spectators.

Million Euro will be invested for the refurbishing of the stadium which was originally built in the 1930s. This is the first major renovation of the stadium in more than 50 years. The venue is on the City’s Heritage Conservation list. WOC announced that he construction work will end by the beginning of 2017.

The visit was a part of the activities of the special working group consisting of two delegates of the NOC, two from the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and two members of the WOC. The group is responsible for the preparations of the Polish National team for the World Games 2017. They will take care of the outfits of the Polish team. The group is responsible of several tasks more such as transport, accommodation and training facilities before and during The World Games.

The visit at the stadium was guided by Wroclaw deputy president Wojciech Adamski and WOC president Marcin Przychodny. The NOC was represented by Secretary General Adam Krzesiński and Joanna Huzarska-Tomaszewska, while Ministry of Sports and Toursim was represented by Urszula Włodarczyk (department of professional sport’s director), Urszula Jankowska and Andrzej Banasiak.
